Terracotta is made out of clay, which is fired in a kiln. Terracotta’s warm shades of red and brown bring an earthy, natural and rustic look to both interior and exterior areas. Tiles made from the material are strong, comfortable and smooth to walk on. Terracotta is also a resistant to mould. Nevertheless, the tiles are porous and need the protection of a sealer.


Bluestone (sometimes called basalt) is formed through the rapid cooling of lava. Slate is a porous metamorphic rock that forms from mudstone or shale. It’s a perfect choice for natural stone tiles, especially if you’re looking for a tile you can use both inside and outside. A completely earthborn product, travertine is a type of limestone formed in hot springs called karst. This long-lasting, natural stone will bring a sense of prestige to any room. Marble is a metamorphic rock formed by the physical changes undergone by limestone under high temperature and/or pressure. Marble tiles create a luxurious look and feel. Porcelain tiles are a type of ceramic tile. They’re made in a similar way to ceramic tiles, but crushed cement is also added into the mix making them tougher. Porcelain tiles are perfect for kitchens, showers, and bathroom walls, but are especially good for floors, as they are so durable. Porcelain tiles won’t absorb every spill and stain, and are easy to keep clean.
